JOHN MILLAR MILLAR MACHINE

Millar machine is the result over over 20 years of riding and wrenching experience. John Millar started working on his own Harley while serving in the Army at Fort Carson, Colorado. He purchased a new 1987 FXLR Low Rider Custom and started taking things off and adding new parts almost immediately. When he shipped his bike to Europe he found shops in Germany were few and far between and had throuble working on the then-new Evo. A riding partner in the states sent him a factory manual and wrote in the cover: "Quit crying and fix it yourself!" After twelve years John, and his wife Jacque left the military and headed for the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoeneix, AZ. John Graduated top of his Harley-Davidson Factory elective classes after first completing theory, the basic technician's course, advanced two- and four-stroke, machine shop and the Harley-Davidson Early Model program. Texas Harley-Davidson, Bedford, TX, hired John right out of school. Jacque, who worked inventory control and international shipping in Germany, was soon working for Chrome Specialties in Fort Worth. After four years the couple moved with their family to Salt lake City, where John built ground-up custom bikes for Classic Motorcycles and also worked for Easyriders of Salt Lake as service manager, bike builder and performance technician, while Jacque worked receiving precious metals and jems for O.C. Tanner, Co.They returned to Texas in 2001 when John landed a job at Easyriders of Houston. Within two months he became service manager of the Houston store and has stayed here working also for Team Mancuso Powersports and Brazos Cycles. Along the way John was certified at Dynojet for Powercommander tuning, at S&S Cycle for their fuel injection system, and at Bourget Bike Works, as a factory-trained technician for their motorcycles. During his time in Salt Lake and Houston John attended five Big Dog Motorcycles tecnical summits and earned his Certified Technician status from Big Dog.John and Jacque decided to open their own shop, which started in the couple's two-car garage in Orchard, TX. Two years ago the couple built a shop on their property in Orchard, and it's been open full-time since. They focus on down-to-earth customer relations where names are more important than numbers. Millar Machine offers everything from custom bike builds to simple services and tire changes. Millar Machine is an authorized dealer for: Amsoil, Baker Drivetrain, Biker's Choice, Barnett, Dragonfly Cycle Concepts, D&D Performance, Innovative Sealing Solutions, Midwest Motorcycle Supply, Mustang, Rinehart Racing, Rivera Primo, S&S Cycle , V-Twin Manufacturing, Wire-Plus and Paul Yaffe/Bagger Nation.
